Default Leather overpants

I've been wearing chaps for three years during cold weather and find they help a great deal. I've been thinking about buying a pair of leather overpants and wonder kind of experience you've had. Advice and suggestions will be appreciated.

They make more sense than leather underpants???

Seriously, I'd find someone that does custom leatherwork and make sure that they fit comfortably. At the beginning of the season I picked up a custom made pair of chaps. One piece of leather and well worth the money. My only concern might be slipping in the saddle, I find with rain pants that I'm not as "solid" in the saddle as I am with jeans.

Only thing I've heard is that with overpants, they're more restrictive than chaps.

First of all firefighter, does my leather thong count as leather underpants?

I can see where they'd be more restrictive but on a cold rainy day when you get caught without raingear it seems they would help keep me dry in the places where chaps don't.

It's just another one of those " can't resist' moments.

Mr. Garner, I'm a huge fan. Loved you on the Rockford Files. Bad *** pontiac.

I got tired of the "assless chaps" jokes from my sons and I found some black leather that looked pretty close, took it all to a seamstress and now I have black leather over pants with the Thinsulate lining in the legs that I couldn't find with regular leather over-pants. Finally, no more Village People jokes!

when you are setting in a reastrarant and a guy with chaps walks in out of the rain, look at his crotch you would think he pissed his pants, pants are the only way to go
