Went on a 650 mile ride last weekend with out a hiccup. This morning at 5:00a.m. Pushed bike out of the garage. Started it up let it warm up about 5 minutes. I rode about 3 blocks then the check engine light along with the battery light lit up.... Dammit..... Turned around went back to the house turned it off. Started it back up no lights lit up. Waited about 3 minutes then they lit up again. Parked it got in the truck.. Will break out the volt meter tonight do a little investigating.... Anybody have this happen? I havn't had any electrical problems. Hopefully it is something simple. I bought a service manual when I got it.. I need the electrical book for the diagnostic. HD didn't see a reason to put both the books together for a complete manual.... Another bright Idea how to get more $$$$ from you.

Engine light indicates a DTC: what are they? Check your battery and connections. Clear codes and try again. ED manual can be helpful but the flow charts are written for testing with a breakout box and digital technician which is unavailable to customer. SM has schematics and electrical section.
The bike ran just fine. Just the lights lit up bothered me. I will check the Charging system first with a volt meter. Then go from there. How do you clear the codes? Thanks for the info...

They have problems with stator. I have one going bad on mine and friends have had there's replaced. I just had to replace one on the RG same thing that the Lowrider Dyna is doing now. It's only time before it will stop chargeing.
Went home late last night. Started messing with it. Checked the DTC.

All have something to do with over voltage. I'm assuming that has to do with the voltage regulator. Cleared all of the codes. Took it for a ride as soon as you hit 3000 rpm the lights lit again. Will find more out Thursday. It is still under Warranty. Have a appointment with the Stealer.
