Default Moving on Up advice

Purchased my 1st Harley this year Sporty 883L. GREAT BIKE but I'm finding myself wanting MORE HARLEY ... more power, 6th speed, more two up riding etc etc.

My question is to those who have made similiar moves from a Sporty to a Dyna LowRider.
(I have to preface that being a 49yr old male and 5ft5 with a short inseam the 883 Low was a great bike due to its WEIGHT and SIZE. ) I plan to TEST DRIVE in the Spring but was hoping for some shared experiances concernning DYNA LOW RIDERS

Q: Will going from a 883L Sporty be too much of a STEP from the standpoint of handling either on the road or in a parking lot pushing the bike in and out ?

the sporty is more top heavy... it feels heavier pushing it around.

Default Moving Up

The 883L Sportster is 120lbs lighter than a Low Rider. I didn't "move up" from a Sportster but I heard they are more top heavy than the Dynas. Other folks will chime in and explain the differences.

No.

You can handle it easily.

Moved up from a tall XLH1200 to an 02 Superglide many years ago, never looked back. I'm at 5'6" put on a different seat and its good. Also have an 05 Lowrider, the riding height will put you flat footed on the pavement. For your passenger to ride comfortably the seat may have to be changed.

while your moving up, consider how high up you can move up. I ride an dyna and love it, but sometimes I wish I could move up to a Streetglide.

I started out on Sporties years ago and moved to a Dyna back in 2003 and then in 2005 to an Ultra. I relaly missed the way my Dyna handled and the fun I had riding. My wife got her own bike so I didnt need the 2 up riding anymore or I went back to a Dyna.
Best Bike I have owned, great handling, running and riding bike
The Sporties are top heavy and are harder to handle IMO, go for the Syna, you will not be sorry

That's only if you consider moving from a Corvette to an Escalade "moving up".

I went from a 1200C to a Low Rider.... ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

...and by the way, I wouldn't trade my FXDL for ANY other bike in the HD Lineup, except maybe a CVO Dyna! hahahaaa
