Question Storing Dyna on lift for the winter...

Over the summer I purchased the Sears yellow bike lift. I was thinking of putting the bike on it for the winter, so if I had to move it around in the garage it would be easier with it being on the lift. The one thing I'm concerned about are the spacers from HD, that are needed to keep the bike level. I'm probably being paranoid, but it gets damn cold in the garage during the winter and I worry about the plastic part of the spacers cracking. My question is, do any of you store your bikes on a lift using these spacers for the four or five months of winter. If so, any problems?

I would be concerned with the constant stress on the jack.

Be sure the HD adapters are perfectly squared.

They can delaminate (picture below)

I've been through two sets already,
and instead of buying a third set,
I bought the J&S jack.

If I'm not mistaken, the yellow Sears jack has 3 or so positions where you can lock the jack and take pressure off of the can.

I don't believe it would be an issue, Working with race cars for the past 10 years or so when ever the car comes back in the shop, no matter how long it is going to sit there, it goes on jack stands with the purpose being to unload the shocks and springs to keep them at their correct rate. We have several cars in the shop at one time and usually only race two of them consistently. I have noticed when we check our spring rates they are very close to what the stock rate is suppose to be.

I am going to be doing the same thing this winter. Do I have to buy HD adapters for the lift?

NO YOU DO NOT!!! a block of wood 2x4 works just as well and is free when you find it in the garage! I STILL ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use a strap to secure the bike!... ALWAYS
