Default DAMN rust!

I hate rust.. my bike is slowly started to collect a bit more rust as it grows older. I ride my bike EVERY day, rain or shine, and being that I live in south Florida, my bike gets wet quite a bit. I'm getting rust under my headlight on the mounting bracket, rust on top of the tubes on that big ol' bolt. A bit of rust on the dash in the bolts sitting in the center... more rust on the mounting bracket of my thunderheader pipes. WHAT A PAIN! Rust is a huge pet peeve of mine. Guess I gotta spend more time cleaning damn it..... anyone else experiencing the same problems? And, the bike is kept in a garage EVERY night.....

Just pretend it's "wrinkle orange" powdercoat.

I have the same riding habits and rust problems as you. Maybe look into a spray on corrosion prevention/cleaner. Just make sure it won't screw up the surfaces it touches.

For the rust on your dash... I've heard of people putting some clear fingernail polish on bolts to prevent them from rusting... But i cant find the harley part # for it...

These products work well for me. I live about a block from the Chesapeake bay and the bike is exposed to lots of salt. I reapply when I clean and it has stopped the rust on my spokes/rims and one a couple of other sundry bolts and rub spots.

In a couple more years you will be able to ride to the Smokeout 11 and it will look like it fits in with what some are doing now ,all rust or mat finish.
