I never have understood why this is such a "heated topic".

I installed forward controls, removed the mids and have never looked back. They are a great addition to any bike, form and function.

Test rode my bike with the mids on. When I bought that bike 30 minutes later, I had the moco put forwards on it. They don't take long to get used to as far as putting the bike through it's paces, it does feel different tho.. but I don't believe they are detrimental to the bikes twisty performance.

Did get bad tailbone pain after about 50 miles, but that was the stock seat. Put the moco sundowner touring seat on, and have never had a more comfortable ride.

*** one more note. Had some local kids getting ready to toss a small rock at me, and I hit the brakes hard. (was only doing about 5mph at that point) Unfortunately I hit the front to hard and front tire slide right out from under me, and the bike went down flat on it's side... on the gravel road I was on. :| .. fricking my fault, but I was seeing red about then.... anyway to the point.... the HD forwards save my bike.... bent the brake peddle a bit, but the only dings I got were a couple of really tiny ones on my pipes. Nothing else touched.... lucky.... and stupid.....

+1 on the HD forwards, if you decide to go with forwards at all. Seems like the guys who have mids and highway pegs are really happy with them. If you can safely shift and brake with your heels when you are on the highway pegs, I don't see a problem with that route, and you get more versatility that way.

No question bike handles better with mids just to uncomfortable for me The answer to this question is what do you like better. This topic has been and i guess will continue to be beaten to death it appears forwards are still the choice of most
