Hi, I have a black 2008 FXD and I live in the northeast and it is almost time to put away for the winter. I actually slipped on some wet leaves (did not get hurt) the other day.

So far the only thing I did was a change the seat to sundowner seat and a HD sissy bar. The seat is very comfortable for those looking for a seat. Highly recommend it.

Any way while the bike is off the road was thinking about putting on some VH black staggered big shots over the winter and powder coating the handle bars and bottom of the forks black (also changing to the HD stock black mirrors and shift levers as well)

Any one have something similar..pics? or good advice.

I don't have the big shots, but I do have the staggered black short shots. And my fork lowers were black from the factory. See sig pic.

I think you'll like the mods your planning.

 

FXD= silver motor= get chrome pipes and wrap em leaving chrome tip on end. i would not black out fork lowers ,etc. unless you gonna black out a whole lot more! Have you lowered the rear yet?
cool think you could do is paint the cylinders black ala 09 street bob style!
Take off the rear strut covers, then do the black out you mentioned above. Also those stock wheels look killer in all black powdercoat!
