Default Fogging motor

Is it necessary to fog the motor of my Fat Bob before I put it into unheated storage for 4 months? I was going to change all fluids, including full gas tank with stabilizer added and run through it. If so, do you just spray it into air cleaner with engine running? Thanks for responses

it isnt necessary, but some people recomend it. i just use sea foam to stablize and let it run for a few. i also dont change the fluids till the begining of next season. if you change fluids now, and you get condensation in your oil over winter, your going to want to change them again. so why waste fluids when its just going to be chillin in the grudge. also i would recomend waxing all the chrome and metals and leaving the haze on over storage period.

I thought I read you shouldn't leave old fluids in the bike because of the acids and such??Especially for a long storage??

+1 on what JRK5892 said. I always find days to ride my bike during the winter, some winters more than others, but I always give it a good ride when I can.

Say what you will, fogging helps protect the exposed parts of the cylinder walls during winter storage. If a light rust develops it can shorten the life of your piston rings when you run the motor in the spring. A couple of minutes in the fall can save you problems later.

no... the oil that is in the motor will protect the parts... it has to sit for a long time for that type of rust to form... fogging is a waste.... start your bike every few weeks... LIKE YOU SHOULD ANYWAY... and you will be fine...
and you want to change your fluids AFTER sitting cause moisure will develope inside the cases and get into the motor oil... do not change it before storing
