Changed my buckhorns for the stock low rider bars without the risers. I was talked out of the stock sportster bars by the parts dude, but may try some next to bring my hands in closer together.

Love my 2008 FXDC, 6K miles in the last year and each one a treat!

X3 or 4 on the bars. Changing mine to fat mini apes after the first of the year.

FXDC is a great bike.

I hadn't realized they went back to the old buckhorns that I had years ago.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Out of those options, I'd probably go for the Low Rider or a Fat Bob with a different fender and apes.

STREET BOB FOR THE WIN!!

Smile I went with the Low Rider

Being 5'7" I sat on all the Dynas and Low Rider fit me well. It comes with the forward foot rest and mid pegs so you can move you feet around for more comfort. Go with FXDL, you will love it.

I'm a chrome and laced wheel fan....For me The add of the DWG style tank and Ignition switch up top made it an easy decision for me . I bought an 08 FXDC

I agree. I love having the ignition on the tank like that. I sat on a lowrider and the custom on the same day and really liked them both but they didn't have a fatbob. Probably liked the way the custom looked a little better, especially since they got rid of that color coordinated tank console. Now if I could only ride all 3!

I too had the Custom "talk to me". I've got the 2008 with the vivid black and pacific blue two-tone. It's a head turner. However, I didn't like the bars. I found that I was leaning a little forward and started to feel it in my back after 50-60 miles. I didn't know what bars I wanted so I decided to go the conservative route first. I bought a set of after market risers (4" up 2" back). They were very easy to install. I'm not a mechanic but I'm not wrench shy either. The risers brought the bars back to me and they felt great. I added a pillow look HD seat which has a deep feel with a nice lumbar support. I couldn't be happier with the feel of the bike. You will absolutely not go wrong with the Custom. Have fun.

FXDC has the bigger tank, tank mounted dash and chrome kit. i switched my bars with some street bob take offs that a friend had. Thats the way that it should come from the dealer in opinion. also I put on some highway pegs very nice.
