Visited the local dealer and sat on a leftover 05 Superglide. I like the bend and reach of those bars, which I believe are part #56004-00 (If anyone with an 05 Superglide parts book can confirm that, thanks). The 05 uses a different triple tree than the 06, which has bigger forks. The centerline of the bar mounts is more rearward (in relation to the fork tubes) on the 05 in comparison to the 06. What I'm trying to do is duplicate the bend of the 05 Superglide, and the same reach, on my 06 FXDI35. Because the bars are further forward on the 06 triple tree, I'd be looking to duplicate those 05 bars but with an inch or two of additional pullback. I remeber someone posted a handlebar comparison chart link, reply if you remeber the link.
It looks to me (from Harley website) like there are only three bars on the 06 Dynas - The type I have (FXDI35, FXD), the Bob style, and the Wide Glide style (which has specail risers). It would have been nice to have one of the bikes duplicate last years seating postion which I really like.
On the risers, Harley only offers the Wide Glide/ Deuce style - which are two inches higher and two inches back. Does anyone know of a thrid party that makes some one inch rearward one inch back in chrome?
I would hope that maybe one of the 07 Dynas might duplicate the 05 seating position, in which case I'd be set since I coiuld just order a set of those bars.
