The tune-ability of your forks is great, the thing I am still staring down is the price tag. Looks like a set up from you will run $2500+, the Ultima set up is some where around $1200. The only bike I ever had with adjustable suspension was a GS1150e, and honestly I sent it on the second stiffest and never changed it again. I don't know if I could justifiy $1300 (10 days of pay) for tune-ability.
I am pretty fimilar with rake, and trail and have figured out how I want to do that, ideal a set of -3 degree triple trees to aviode cutting up the front end and still get to the 25 degrees I want, trail is still over 3 inchs so it should be fine.
Of the high dallor stuff, Howards materials seem to have it hands down over the the like priced guys.
I still have to ask; has anyone used Ultima Inverted forks?
Harley now has a set of BLACK inverted forks for Softails, part #
48646-06A there is no mention of needing new trees nor is there any mention of them being used on a SE model, hoping to find out if they can be used on a Dyna
oops I edited my sig line because I really wasn't sure what model the SE dyna was based off of. and after I found out its a mixture of all of them I changed it...sorry for the confusion haha
I'm really debating on buying a set of Ohlins shocks.. we'll see. My bike is getting a makeover!
If u do make sure u do something with the front end!
Just dont do the rear shocks..it wont be right or feel right..General rule of thumb do it all together!
Good luck with ya makeover
Unreal, found a spot here where actual information is being discussed about .....ahhhhhhhh.....suspension and braking enhancements of the fabled HD brand motorcycle! Man, I love that motorcylemetal website .... " If you own a bike to look at or impress the public by profiling, move on. My products are made to be ridden with no attitude except pure pleasure. Posers need not apply."
Is this thread considered heresy around here, discussion of decreasing weight, improving handling. Come on where is the good stuff, adding pound after pound of really useful, ride improving chrome everything?
