The easiest thing to do would be to lace a 16" rim to the stock hub. Drop the rear 1" to even out the bike. One thing is it may look odd having a 16" front and 17" rear. Thats how the cross bones is and I don't think it looks right.

Sumpnut, I have a 2006 Streetbob with a 16" front wheel. I laced a 16" rim to the stock hub. I ordered the spokes and rim from hdwheels.com. The rim is 16x3.5 the tire is dunlop 130/90/16. I custom made a front fender to fit the tire better than the one in the video.

Hejsan! Another Swede! Great! Go for 16" but without the front fender (or a small custom like 47DODGE)

Check the http://www.exilecycles.com/ homepage for tips and pics. They love fat front tires and smaller wheels!

i also used my orginal 09 hub and had it re-laced on to a 16'' rim. droppped the rear with the 1' shorter shocks and everything is good to go. the bike sit level, handles great at top end speeds, and turns easy on slow speeds. i also like the feel of it sitting lower and of couse i love the new look. cost wise, $100 for spokes, $120 to lace and true, plus the cost of mounting and balance. add the cost of progressive shocks for the rear. labor was n/c, i did all my on r&r on the shocks and front wheel.

I know mine's a Sporty, but I also have a BT front end on my bike and all I did to change from a 21 was bought a new rim and some spokes off ebay...Drag specialties twisteds for 45 and a HD chrome rim (in perfect shape btw) for 23 + shipping.

FWIW...I LOVE the fatty up front...it feels alot better.

Default RE: 16" Front Wheel

Nothing to it. Just lace your hub to a 16" wheel. I have had mine on for about 2 years & love it. I bought a front fender off a Fat Bob & modified it to fit (grind & drill!) In the rainy season I run with the fender, all other times without. I also put 11.5 Progressives on to lower the back.
