Harley may use the term mini but I believe it is just a description of them being shorter than other apes, since there are so mini different sizes.
Funny how you think I'm "slamming: on Harley for calling pull-back/high rise bars (what they were called long before Harley deemed them to be "Mini-Apes", especially in a forum where complaining about the moco, for everything from what they charge, to where their clothing is made, to warranty issues, etc. is a frequent topic of discussion.

Of course, thinking about this a bit more, the style of these particular bars can be viewed differently, depending on how they are mounted/adjusted. If they are nearly vertical, or even forward a bit, they are rather mini-apish looking. You may note, mine are not - they are well back, in more the old high-rise/pull-back fashion.

Apes, which is the shortened term for "Ape Hangers", cannot be mini, as there would be no "hanging" involved.

Funny how a harley can be your second favorite thing <using your words>
Funny how you seem to imply I might be slighting HD by liking my wife more than my bike.

and then sound like you are trying to bash them for coining a term for describing an item.
Perhaps you are just being overly sensitive. That time of the month for you?

Flat apes???? what the hell does that mean anyway?
It's my goofy Harley term for drag bars, just like high-rise/pull-back bars are called "mini-apes". Then there are also the HD "Sand Apes", which are called Beach Bars by everyone else.

Oh...more Harley slamming I guess....
Dumb guess, but, at least you're trying.

well...they took a healthy chunk of your change when you bought into their product so I guess they'll still get the last laugh on ya.
Another dumb guess... bought my bike used, so, in that case, they didn't. But, I do spend a significant amount of money at my favorite HD dealer, as well as spending a smaller amount at other dealers I visit. They don't seem to find it humorous though. It's a business that exists to make a profit by selling HD bikes and related products. I as a consumer, choose to spend my money there. It works out well for both of us, in a non-humorous way.

Sorry if I offended your sensitivities. Had I known my approval of your likes and dislikes was so important to you, I might have offered a disclaimer.

Always have been curious about apes, but you gotta love when the dialogue gets hot. My fav is the twisting of the knife at the end of the posts

Any sugestions... do they make polyurethane bushings instead of rubber, or something of that nature?

Children? You dang young whippersnappers! I'm old enough to be your grandpaw!

On a somewhat more serious note - did any old guy ever, in history, actually call anyone a whippersnapper? I would think it'd be more of a sex industry term.
... and why the hell do they call it the sex industry? Do they build sex? If HD built sex, I bet they wouldn't call anything they made "mini".
