I'm finding myself not digging the apes as much as the drags I had on my Deuce. I love the Apes looks but also turns me into a parachute at 80mph. I'm also not diggin the "wobbly" or "Unstable" feeling. I have stock bars with the rubber mounts that totally suck ***...
I'm thinking 8" straight risers, solid mount with a straight piece of pipe might be better...
Phx has installed photoradar camera's every 3 miles on our I/17, I/10 and loop 101 routes in the last 2-3 weeks... which is where I ride daily. On the website it states the camera's are set for 10MPH over the limit. So I ride 8/9 over anytime i'm on the road. Problem is 99% of the cagers drive the limit in all the freaking lanes so now i'm playing frogger everytime i'm on the road... which is kinda fun but the spaghetti bars have to go!!
Everytime I see someone riding with ape hangers I have to laugh to myself
there goes someone who likes to experience motorcycle riding at its worst. I just put a set of dragbars on my low rider and now it feels like a motorcycle is supposed to feel.
Hey there I'm in Phoenix also, dont' you love photo radar? I switched out my stock apes on my 06 WG to the street slammer drags (8" rise) and it's much easier to handle and the wind is no longer an issue.
The first time I got on the Highway with my mini apes i wondered how people kept up with traffic. I was being beaten to a pulp at 75-80 miles per hours.
Be advised that I ordered from that seller a month ago and I am still waiting for my purchase to arrive. I got a drag bar for $11 from debrix cycles (also slow) and risers from some other guy on ebay. Cost me about $35 total before I powdercoated the risers black.
