One other thing. I used to have 6" straight risers and those would get me tired. My back would start to hurt after about 200 miles. They made me lean forward to much(I'm 6'1). Now I have 9" risers with pull back. And they are much better on my back.
drags can give you a kindof C shape riding position apes can make you sit straight,
that being said i have drags but am going to try apes next summer they look comfy,
sorry not any help
I'm on the fence.. I do remember the drags on my Deuce after about 200-300 miles, my lower back and my neck both would hurt be sore the next day but the deuce also had the controls back about 2" or so and the seat was lower than my WG.
Anybody wanna loan me their WG with drags for 300 miles or so?
comfort (apes=no pain) vs. stability while playing frogger...
If you have actually ridden a bike with drag bars, and ridden a bike with apes you will know that apes are more comfortable AND offer easier steering. And i mean put miles in the seat, not go bar hoping. I can out ride any drag bar queen with my 16's... I learned to ride on a sport bike (non Harley). The weak point on these bikes is ground clearance. I can just as easily scrape my primary in a corner with apes as well as drags.
Everytime I see someone riding with ape hangers I have to laugh to myself
there goes someone who likes to experience motorcycle riding at its worst. I just put a set of dragbars on my low rider and now it feels like a motorcycle is supposed to feel.
Inthered
Your opinion, personally I think Apes are the only way to fly, I hate being hunched over, too hard on the back.
I've had both drag bars with 8 inch rise and the carlini apes. The drag bars made my neck and shoulders hurt after about 1 hour. The apes to me are far more comfortable but do take some time to get use to.

I got my drags on Ebay for $60 shipped. I didnt want to spend a bunch on a really nice pair just in case I didnt like them or they hurt my back. It's actually a funny story. I sent a guy a message saying they had some scratches on them (not bad at all) and he sent me my money back and told me to keep them!!! Free bars!!
Moral of the story. Get a really cheep pair and see if ya like them. Then spend the money on a nice set if ya like them.
