I'm looking to replace the stock seat on an '07 Wide Glide. The Mustang Tripper Solo Seat was my first choice but have become interested in the HD Sidekick Custom. The Mustang Solo looks cool in pics but I can't really tell if there is any back support. Not looking to be moved back a great deal and lean forward to the bars, that kills my back. I don't carry any passengers as my wife has here own bike so I'm not concerned about passenger comfort with the Sidekick Custom.
The stock Wide Glide seat is better than most stock seats but just doesn't cut it and I just can't get comfortable on it. I'd like to hear any input from anyone who has either of these seats. Thanks.
no real back support to the tripper but the lip will hold you in place... Have you checked out the Mustang fastback... bet that seat could fit the bill of comfort and back support.... the big difference between a Harley seat and the mustang is the mustang has a flat pan and the sides do not fold over like on the H-D ones... This affords you much better support and no high spots underneath the seat to irritate you after some time in the saddle.
I highly recommend the tripper solo for rear end comfort, however, not if you need additional back support.
bberck -
been following your posts and wanted to mention that your seat and bar changes are perfect for a superglide. well done. That seat looks awesome and i must say that I'm quite envious of your new bar/speedo setup.
sorry to hooligan for the minor hijack - got to agree with either "fastback" model - sounds like just what you're looking for. The mustang solo will sit you a bit higher but not farther back. Never seemed right to me - no back support.

Reason: typo
In my opinion the C&C fastback looks WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than the mustang fastback. My C&C is comfy as hell and was cheaper than the mustang too!

he's right the c&c is a nicer looking seat. I think the mustang will have more backrest for you. The think about seats is comfort is personal...My 1st seat I bought was a c&c sport tourer and the comfort was a 2 out of 10 for me and 1 out of 10 for my wife. We had to send it back it was soo bad. On my mustang the comfort is a 9 out of 10 for me and the wife. the C&C does not have a flat pan and We had major hot spot issues (even worse than the stock seat).
