im wanting some bags for my bike,i was at my delaer the other day they had the HD quick det bags(800 bags) in the 50% off section. somone ordered them and didnt come to pick them up. i want bags but i also want to be able to take them off. are regular bags that much of a pain to take off compares to quick det?aldo i dont know how they would look on my bike being that it is winter and i cant take it to the shop to compare them to the bike. so want i guess im asking is to see a few bikes with bags and yoor opions about quick det and regular bags.
800 bags for 400 is still cheaper then buying the cheapes hd bags i think
here is a link to the bags the ones they have are last years model they look the same excpet the ones im looking at have a small trim piece on it
let me know what you guys think
Here ya go. There are a couple of other brand that make this stuff as well but their names have escaped me at the moment. http://www.ghostbrackets.com/

The Boss Bags are another alternative. They are up around the $800 range though. They go on and off in just seconds and they lock to your bike. The bags also lock, too. IMO they are very good quality. Check out there web page.
I have a set of HD bags and was looking into different quick disconnect systems for them. I called Ghost brackets and Easy brackets. They told me that they may not fit every bag that HD makes. The problem is that some of the HD bags have a hard plastic contoured back and this can be a problem with Easy or Ghost since they are made with a flat piece of steel that connects to the back of the bag. I am not saying they will not work, but instead I went with Barebacks. See here http://www.cyclevisions.com/bag-mounting/barebacks/
They take some time to get them set up just right, but once you do they are great. If there is anything neg. about them it is that they are not lockable. I wish you the best of luck in which ever way you go.
For 400 bucks for HD quick disconnects, that is cheap.
I put the new HD Distressed bags on my Fat Bob, got them off Ebay for $425 from a dealer in Florida, fast shipping and I love the bags.
I am going to Eazy Brackets on in the spring, but right now they are on there as I need them most days
Purchased Harley custom chopper bobber leather throw over bags off Ebay NEW for around $38 incl shipping about 5 days ago. Still waiting for my early present to myself so hopefully they look as good as they did in the auction. Can't go wrong either way with that price.
