Ok I have a chance to pick up a 06 SE dyna tank and my question is will it fit my 05 SG?

Also if you know will my speedo work in the 06 SE dash?

I don't think HD made a SE Dyna in 06? Made them in 07 and 08.
I think the 07 had a bar mount speedo and center fill fuel, and the 08 had a tank mount speedo (same tank as the St.Bob).
Anyway - all dyna tanks 04-09 will fit on your frame. speedo locations differ on differnet tank styles.

 

Ya there wasnt a 06 SE Dyna. Think it was 2 baggers, vrod and Fatboy for 06.

There was a 06 35th annivery SG if thats what its from. If it is no I believe it has the 5inch speedo.

Like stated above the 07 has the bar set up I have. The 08 does use a 4inch speedo in its console.

 

Your Superglide has the fuel filler in the middle so if the tank has the hole on the side it's for the Lowrider and Bob...WG too I think.

 

yeah the 08 SE dyna has a streetbob/lowrider tank that will eliminate the speedo on the bars. you will want an 04-current lowrider tank or the 06+ streetbob one to fit your speedo... the other dyna tanks are the one you have (center gas fill) and the fatbob style on the wideglide/fatbob/FXDC 07+/fxdc35. Fatbob style has 5" speedo.

Donnie, is your bike carbed or fuel injected? Different tanks for each and not interchangable.

If you have F.I., the tank above should work.

The Screamin Eagle tank you are looking at uses the same console as on your bike now. The tank is the exact same as yours, just has a different paint scheme. Harley has not used that tank on any bikes which house the speedo in the tank conole. There are no components available, that I know of, to make that way.

If you want the tank mounted speedo, you have two other tank options. The Street Bob and Low Riders used the same tank and parts are available to use your speedo on the console. The Wide Glide and newer Super Glide Customs used the same tank. You could go with one of these, but will need to get a new speedo too. These tanks use a larger speedo.

The only reason I'm looking for a different tank is to use my speedo in the tanks console, I had no idea that se tank had the same dash as mine... Defeats the purpose for me....

Any idea what year tanks will mount up to my frame and I can use my speedo in the dash?

I think 06-07 streetbob tanks will do it.... just cant find any!

The lowrider tanks have a tac. in them don't they and I'm no interested in adding a tac.

Not worried about paint either because I will be painting it myself..... I'm good at drawing flames so I wanna do my own art work and paint myself
