I really don’t mean to be a whiney b*tch, but seriously – 10 days with the new Street Bob and the alarm light has started staying lit and then the right turn signal quit working. What the hell? I’m waiting to see when it quits working all together before I can even get it in to the shop.
I already went through having the rocker boxes on my Nighster having to be ‘fixed.’ Then I had ‘loss of control of idle’ on it, but traded it in as it was.
I was really hoping to have a flawless experience with the new bike…. I guess it could be worse, but that’s really not the expectations I would hope to have from a $14,500 motorcycle.
Get back to the dealer for warranty. I would suspect the battery leads not tight and the battery not on a full charge. Let us know what they find will you?
I would check the battery and all major grounds... Not too familiar with the electrical on these bikes, but reduced power will make things act up in strange ways.
I had a very similar problem with my 05 about a year ago and it turned out to be the security module.... 300 and some bucks plus 1 hour labor to program it and I had to trailer my bike to the dealer.
Hope that's not your problem but you may want to check that.
When mine did that, the tire had rubbed thru the wiring under the rear fender and shorted the wires out. No other damage. Repaired wiring, all back to normal.
I've found Harley Stealers to be pretty good when it comes to warranty repairs. My 'bad' experiences have been with a Sportster - first the engine light came on, then it came on again with misfiring, now it's on again. The dealer's looked at it and never found the problem but they are buying back my bike for the full original price - I'm trading up to a Dyna.

My '06 had the same issue and had to replace the security module. Warranty item! Take it back to the stealer
Yeah, it should be under some kind of warranty, but I don’t know if the full 2 year warranty applies as it was installed at the dealer. Anyone know how dealer installed items are covered? With only 10 days on the bike it should be covered regardless I would hope.
Gripes me that I’m going to have to arrange to take it in so quickly. It’s brutally cold here most days.
