Hi all, I'm contemplating trading the sporty for an 09 street bob and I have a couple of questions. I have done very little research on this so forgive me if these are dumb questions.

Blacking out the triple trees and lower forks- How do you do it? Does anyone make a kit like the chrome kits?? Do you paint them yourself??

Blacking out the motors- Any new parts or do you guys paint yourselves?? I don't like the silver engine on the 09, that is unless I go with the pewter denim paint.

To black out the motor on an '09 FXDB you'd have to paint yourself or find a guy with an '06-'08 who wanted to swap.

As for blacking out the lowers and trees......powder coat.

Best bet for the trees and lowers would be Powder coat. Blacking the motor out is going to be a little tougher.

That motor looks killer with some chrome added though. Check out Tweakins 09 to see what I mean.

Yeah Tweakin's bike is sick!! I Think I might go with the pewter denim paint. IMO everything flows real well with that color. There would need to be some changes though.

powder coating, extremely durable! A little down time, but worth it! That's what winter is for!

powder coat or you can use epoxy enamel paint if you want to do it yourself.
