i sanded with 200some grit, 400some, then 600, i don't have anywhere around that has 1000grit, but it was very very smooth, wipe it down, sprayed primer, let sit for like 45 mins, then scuffed with a scotchbrite, then sprayed harley black denim, i did this on a test piece so i probably "rushed" and blah blah so i may have not let sit for long enough, i guess when i do it on bike i'll let primer sit for around an hour and give the black paint a couple days... what do you think?

i had mine sandblasted then primed before paint they came out awesome one small scratch where my son "helped" with the re-install but its not noticeable
