If your going to a solid rear wheel then just get a cover. But if you go with some custom wheels get a chrome one. I think my pulley was $575, but I'm kinda **** about having everything match.
Here's a couple pics of my bike with the cover. I don't have a clear pic of it from the other side because I never cared, but as you can tell it's hard to get past the brake to notice the back side of the pulley.
on my belt drive shovel.i was replacing the cover on mine cause it was scratched up,so i just put the old cover on the back, new on the outside.its been 10 years since i did it,but i dont think i modified anything
man you talked yourself out a chrome pulley and chrome bolts in one thread. Seriously, the chrome does look nice if you have custom wheels. I didnt think it was all that important, so I went with the cover. You cant really tell unless your really lookin for it. As far as the bolts, thats just scary sh*t.
Doughboy great idea man, a cover on each side, $140 as opposed to $400.
It is just personal opinion....and I really don't want anyone to be insulted by what I think BUT.......
When I'm @ a bike nite or just in the parking lot of my local biker bar and chattin' it up with friends and looking @ guys bikes, when I see a chrome cover instead of the real deal I always think:"Why did they go the cheap way when they had to take the bolts out to install either a pulley or a cover?"
I know cost is an issue for many of us, myself at the top of that list, but some things I will just skip unless I can go all out.
Dammit Sniper, this is the same attitude that talked me into doing the inner primary instead of the inner primary cover, I am such a sucker for chrome.

You can find some good deals on pulley rotor sets out there for way less. I paid 240 for both rotors and pulley on eBay. I think they look great on my ride. They came with the bolts as well for that price.
