Default Sore Tail Bone

I put some miles on my new Super Glide today and the old ( and I mean old) tail bone is sore.

Any suggestions besides a seat change?

I understnad that I have not ridden in years, and when I did ride it was all in the dirt with Motos and Hare Scrambles. More peg time there than seat time.

If I have to get a seat, I will, but I thought it worth a shot to ask here.

Mike

For less than $100 you can get a gel pad for the seat and that should help considerably. The other thing to consider is to get highway pegs for your bike so you can adjust your butt position periodically.

I have found that factory seats are not really comfortable for the long haul. I have a Corbin, and can ride it all day. Mustangs are also good seats.

If you have not ridden for a long time, it might just might take a little getting use to. Make sure your bars are in the right position, and as oldgeezer says, have more than one place to put your feet.

Regards,

Bill

I copped a great deal on a Engine guard with highway pegs on Ebay. Shoot - I have bought a bunch of stuff in the last week off Ebay.

But, I will try the highway pegs and see how that goes. I rode Saturday and got the sore butt, then I rode about twice as far today after church and the butt was no more sore with the extra miles.

Maybe just getting back in the saddle will help./

If you have not been on a bike for a while, your butt will be numb till you get used to being in the saddle again. Once you put a few hundred miles in, you should feel more comfortable. It may take a little longer if your tailbone is (as you put it) old, or if you suffer from my ailment, noassatall
