Default Seat Problem, I slide forward

My 05 EGS has the original 2 up touring seat, very comfy I might add. But every time I hit a bump, even a small bump I slide forward in the seat. I always have to re-adjust myself back into the seat. I’m 6’ tall so I don’t think it’s a height issue. I was wonder if highway pegs would help, I could brace myself more than you can with floorboards. Anyone else having this kind of a seat problem. I should add that this Harley is new to me. Thanks for the help.

Quit waxing the seat and yes, highway pegs do help. Try kuryakyn longhorn pegs. They will adjust for tall and short riders and have a peg large enough to feel comfortable without the feeling of slipping off. You can find them on Ebay for around $120 compared to Harley's $100. The mounts look very nice not cheap.

+1 for the Kury pegs. You're not using something like ArmorAll on the seat are you?

I was thinking of the Armor All or similar product. Not a good idea on a seat, you don't want to be sliding sideways when you have the bike leaned over in a long sweeper of a curve That'll put a scare in you that you'll never forget.

No, I’m not using Amour All or any other slippery seat cleaners, only soap and water. I was thinking that highway pegs might help. I was also reading on another post about air pressure in the rear shocks. Mine is low to nil, I'll try running about 15psi and see if that helps. Thanks for the replys….

There is pine tar, like they use on baseball bats. Then there is velcro, you'll have to sew the hooks on your trousers. Then a seat belt might help too.

I would think your suspension might be runnig a little stiff in the rear shocks. Did ya try letting some air out of them?

Your seat may have become a little de-formed over time. Once you are sitting in the "pocket" of the seat moving forward should involve sliding "up hill", if its not your seat isn't holding the right shape.
