Default primary chaincase cover

I have a question. Looking at the manual it say that you must 1. Loosen rear axle nuts. 2. Loosen axle adjusters about three turn. Can someone tell why you have to do this to get the cover off. Not thats it hard to do this first just trying to understand more about things
Thanks

The manual goes back and forth a little bit, ya might have miss read it, or missed something. No reason to touch any of that! I've had my whole primary apart 3 or 4 times & did nothing with axle nut or adjusters unless I needed a new tire or adjusting the belt.
