am changing tanks on my SG, and plan on using 06 later SB tank. I have been looking at parts and things to make it happen and just have a quick question. Is the 06-later SB tank the same as the 04-later Lowrider?? I know the dash set up is different but are the tanks themselves the same as far as the guts? Can I put the Dash of a SB on the lowrider tank? Thanks all

 

I have read on here that they are the same but I won't swear to that. Best bet is to see what the part numbers are for both tanks in primer and see if they are the same.

 

not to hijack the thread, but since we are on the subject of fuel tanks would a fat bob fuel tank fit on a SB? Anyone try that?

 

Yes, the dynas have used 3 tanks since 2004.

tank#1 = 04+ Superglide, 04+ FXDX, 04-06 superglide custom (FXDC), 07 FXDSE
tank#2 = 04+ Lowrider, 06+ Street Bob, 08 FXDSE.
tank#3 = 04+ wide glide, 06 35th anniversary, 07+ Superglide custom, 08+ Fat Bob

 

the tank will fit the frame, but the Street Bob dash will not fit on the fat bob tank. you would need to replace the entire dash if you change tanks - pricey.

Glide, thanks for the feedback, don't want to change out the dash. Guess I will live with the 0.3 gallons less fuel.
