hahaha....I got it because it drove me nuts too. I might have to change it. It could possibly be too irritating.

I break the motor in like I would normally ride the bike which is pretty hard.Change the oil after the first 50 then again at 250-300, then again at 500, use Mobil 1 15 50 from wall mart, at 1000 miles I go to Mobil V 20 - 50. Read about this in the touring section and have not had a problem on the last 4 bikes, my kawi did have more metal than any of the Harleys.Its just making the parts mesh with each other would not overthink it too much.

You know - thanks so much for that. I am one of the guys that has been over-thinking it and did panic a little when I saw the comment about 6th (which is completely contrary to what the owners guide says and what I was told in person).

I had more of a gray sludge stuck to my drain plugs...not really any flakes or shavings. I figger'd it was break-in mud; micro-itty-bittys from the ring edges and cylinder hone surfaces getting friendly with each other. Yeah, that jammin' monkey made me laugh out loud!!!
