Synthetic fluids
Since I'm an AMSOIL dealer, I know what will be going in my new one at the first opportunity. I run it in my 99 Dodge diesel in every place I can. It's a matter of preference what you run. Some like dino and some like synth. There's good to be said for both.
In motor Mobile 1 Vtwin 20-50 (high molly for motor)
In promary Mobile 1 4T racing oil (no molly on clutch)
In xmission Mobile 1 75-90 xmission oil
Syn is the way to go on the new bikes, the technology is there and verifiable, syn just works better. There is nothing "wrong" with dino its just a little behind the times technicaly speaking. That being said, I still run dino in the primary, seems to work better, and last change I put dino in the tranny cause I didnt have any severe gear around after I drained it, (thought I did).
Usually I run amsoil 20x50 in the crank Severe Gear 75W-140 in the tranny and either HD or drag specialties or Bikers choice primary. I find syn in the primary runs like crap in mine, I sell Amsoil but I wont recomend anything I dont or wont use myself.
I use amsoil AF that replaced the K & N 0800 and I have used the amsoil oil filter. Im real fond of K & N oil filters cause they have the screw on fitment, and the HD filters down to the finest micron of any HD campatable filter. I run 3000 miles on the amsoil swap the filter from K & N to either HD or Amsoil and run anouther 3 to 5 grand and the oil still looks good when it drains out. I havent done an oil annalysis yet I plan on doing one right before the next change at 7 or 8 grand, for a bassis to see at what miliage I really need to change. I have a friend who runs 10 grand and changes filter at 5 dont want to try that till I get the analysis, dont think I really wanna go more than 8 anyway regardless. While the oil looked good at the last change I could tell the diference after.
I ran HD shockproof in the tranny for 12 grand and didnt like the way it looked at change, I was more impressed with the severe gear as far as perfomance, as good or better, and it looked a lot better on change.
