Default New bags

Picked up some new hard saddlebags today from North Coast Thunder Bikes ... just the bags, though; I still need to get the mounting brackets and hardware for them. I got them in gloss black.

This adds urgency to my decision about what to do with my rear fender. At a minimum I think I'm going to copy JMPANCOAST's rear turn signal relocation concept. I'm still leaning toward something like Ackman1968 and Buscha ....

Photos (the white version) of my bags and paraphenalia below ....

Priest,

Hope your weather is turning out better than it has been around here recently.
Have you looked into the pancea taillight by kury? The turn signals are built into it, I am going this route here shortly. Just an idea. Are you going to make them quick release? If you are thinking about it, maybe take a look at Barebacks system. i am using it for my HD hard back bags and it is working great.
When you get them mounted, make sure to put out some pics!! Maybe this next summer we will be in the same area and meet. Good luck!!

You're East of the Cascades? Heard there was a lot of snow out that way ....

I've put over 500 miles on my bike this week .... The weather's been rather cold low 40's to low 50's in the afternoon.

I still need to pick up the brackets, but will post pics when done.

Most people are trying to figure out how to get their bags off.

Did your wife make you do it? :}

Will be nice to see!

BTW, eastern side here has been nice in the afternoon. Unfortunately roads been frosted over on the way to work, and freezing fog on the way home.... so prudence takes me by 4 wheels.

I'm just hoping for a couple of hours riding time on Saturday afternoon.

I'll be like a "snowbird" and switch to the bagger forum in the winter and the Dyna forum in the summer! LOL!

I've been interested in your concept Joe ... you gotta squeeze in a little time to do them (between your metric project bikes)!

The wife refuses to ride ... it's necessity. I commute 70 miles one-way and just having to carry the smallest thing causes me to take the cage--it's not that bad, it's a Jeep Wrangler, but still ... I don't get to use the HOV lane and it adds 15 minutes (each way) to my commute at least!

Yeah ... prudence kept me off the roads for a while here around the Sound, too. We had over two weeks with snow on the ground around Christmas--that's pretty unusual. Glad it's gone ... it's been dry this week if a little cold! That fairing does make it a lot more bearable ....

Will get the pics up, but it'll probably be a few days till I get the hardware and everything mounted. I might try to mock them up, so you can get an idea of where I'm going with them.

are you gonna make those bags removable? if not , you could mount some kind of flush mount led's in the back of the bags. just a thought.
