good luck with jmc, i sent several emails inquiring about a swingarm for my bike and was never able to get one from him. i will ultimately go with a trak dynamics one. http://www.tracdynamics.com/

i went with w8less rotors & pads (same composite as lyndall but not hand formed as lyndalls are, 1/2 the price too) + brembo calipers.

i noticed a huge difference after the changes, but i carved off about 90 pounds of weight all at once.

dyna mo, what can I say, your bike looks awesome!!! The rims look awesome too! More info on your forks? I'll give JMC a try. I frequently travel to the UK for business and I could try to go to their premises. I have heard that they are back with production. I will also look into tracdynamics swingarms and w8less rotors and pads. Thanks!

Thanks dyna mo!

I got information about the weight of Excel, Apollo, and Apollo-SL wheels (BTW Andrei is a very helpful guy). Here are the figures in case some of you are interested:

Aluminum rim (only) weight:

21x2.15 rim – 2.3kg (Excel), 2.8kg (Apollo), 2.9kg (Apollo-SL)

18x5.5 rim – 3.8kg (Excel), 4.3kg (Apollo), 4.4kg (Apollo-SL)

(If you want it in lbs just multiply these numbers by 2.2)

But does anyone know how much comparable HD rims weight?

PS. For people interested in how much they cost, I got a quote of 2140$ for the above sizes, Apollo-SL, 60 cross laced, chrome.

For those interested, an ebay seller who was selling a 21x2.15 oem hd rim measured it and told me that it weights 6.96lbs (3.16kg). So some weight savings with Excel (see message above) but not much with Apollo SL (but these look great!).

BUSCHA; you could also try these guys if you're going to be in England:

I see you are in Italy; was there on the Edelweiss Tuscanny tour in Oct; awsome country and people; I can understand how you would want better handling potential!!!

Thanks Sharkey, I'll check them out. Yes, Tuscany is nice... I live in Northern Italy close to the Austrian Alps, great place for riding, and indeed a place where you need better handling potential!!! Anyway I don't enjoy riding straight highways. I just want to find a nice balance between style and rideability, which is a bit tricky. I got a wide glide because I love its looks, but now I need to modify it to get a better handling machine. I already bought better shocks and racetech's fork springs and gold valve cartridge emulators (all from FastHarley, Howard, great guy!). I am now looking at wheels, brakes, and aluminum swingarms. When these things get shorted, I might start looking into engine upgrades. I consider handling upgrades much more important than engine upgrades.
