I would seriously think about spending the extra to get a Super Glide Custom. The speedo is already moved to the tank. Probably a lot cheaper then replacing the tank and adding a new speedo. Plus you get tons of chrome.

You cheapest option would be to do the chrome mounting bracket and backing plate. Makes the speedo look much better sitting on the bars. Changing tanks can tear a wallet up. You can go with a digital speedo, but lose the communication and read out from the ECM.

HEY stop now ,if you don't like the looks of the fxd gauges buy a different model,it's way too expensive to change it to tank mount etc. later.I like the big single gauge and the single gas cap so i'm happy.Reminds me of the old vincents and triumph roadburners.Buy the right bike for you the first time and then you won't regret it.

I agree with RAWHIDE07 if you don't the the handlebar mounted speedo buy a different model.

I went with the 07 SE Superglides set-up on mine. If you just dont like the mount there are options. If you want it in the tank I agree with others and buy the custom from the start, it will be cheaper.

You can go with a separate speedo/tach side-by-side set-up or buy a single speedo/tach unit. Check Harley's website and look in the PDF Accessories Catalog.
