Although I'm a little ambivalent with respect to these 'cosmetic' additions, I would hesitate to be quite so judgmental or come down quite as hard on someone who might do buy and install these.
Are you going to look down your nose at someone with a S&S / Flathead Power or Accurate Engineering Panhead or Knucklehead (or any of the other aftermarket reproduction engine makers ... STD ... etc.)?
There's a lot to be said for the better engine building techniques and standards applied to late model TC engines (and that have been retro-fitted to a lot of the Pan and Knuck reproductions).
If I'm not looking at a 100 point show bike with all original, I don't see an issue if something is not original ....
