Nope. Some say lowers for the shield. It seems to be hit and miss. May want to get a shield that allows for rake adjustment. My sister has a shield on her metric that she can adjust rake on and she had to adjust to the perfect angle to stop the buffeting.
I have a HD detachable windshield on my Fat Bob and love it. Would not ride on the highway with out it. Is the windshield slid all the way up on the forks or is it low on the forks. Mine is about 3/4" to 1" from the highest it can go. Works great.

A couple suggestions, but you may still decide to return it. Many have had the same experience with windshields as you are describing. Seems the wind come sunder the shield, then up the body, enough to wear your head out. A couple things to try....
I found buffeting was lessened depending on its position on the fork tubes. Lower worked better for me than mounting it high between the trees.
I found the smaller the helmet, the less the effect.
Holding my knees against the tank helped a lot.
Other than those, I suggest taking it back and trying a Memphis Shades or other brand shield.

Gotta say the same here, I have a HD detachable on mine and love it for hiway riding... I do have a pouch on my windshied adn a tank lift so maybe that has somethign to do with it, but have it adj about 1/2 below the highest it can go and no real buffering to speak of at 80mph
I have the H-D Compact, Quick-Detachable windshield on my 2007 FXDC. What I was after was to eliminate the wind pushing on my chest at highway speeds (ie. 60-90mph). Works great. I get a helluva lot of wind buffeting on my head - feels great!
I have a rigid mounted fork bag on the lower tree that cuts a lot of the wind coming through. I think the tank lift helps as well. Try adjusting the height and angle. It's amazing what a subtle change in the position of the shield will do.
My 07 Road Glide was so bad stock (buffeting) it was waaay worse than my Dyna. I fixed the Glide with a very tall shield and lowers. It's now better than my Dyna, which had a quick detach screen. However, the Dyna id OK.
Windshield height, relative to you, can be critical. Generally, you want it as high as possible, BUT, able to see over it.
However, nothing seems to work for everyone
Good luck, this can be a super annoying issue.

Sounds like you need a bagger
Seriously.....Some people found ways to avoid buffetting. See the other 4000 threads about it. Dynas were not designed with windsheilds in mind.
