I decided to go with the 2.5" pullback risers. No problem with cables; just had to re-orient the clip that secures the brake line to the upper tree.

These put the bars at just the right height and distance for me.

 

Your bike looks great. It has been fun watching it being dressed up over the last month since you bought it. You got good taste.

 

I too put 2.5" pullback risers on my 2007 FXDC. I like my handlebars but needed a little pullback. I used the J&P Cycles 2.5" pullback risers Part Number: 5000022 and J&P Cycles top clamp bolts Part Number: 5000867

One suggestion would be to put some chrome handle-grips like the Diamond plate ones and eventually chrome switch housing. Obviously that is personal taste, but my opinion is that they would be blend nicely with the rest of the chrome in the FXDC.
