I have Rush 1.75" on an 08 super glide. Am looking to switch to 2.25" baffles for a more deeper sound. I love them. I believe Supertrapp was the company that made the old SEII mufflers.

Here's a comparison video I did using Rush's own demo videos of their different size baffles. This is on a 1200 Sportster, but it gives you some idea of how the different size changes not only how loud they are, but the tone.

Default pulling the stock baffles

I'm thinking of the rush in black, but anybody know how much of a hassle it is to pull the stock baffles and possibly replace them with aftermarket baffles?

If the baffles on the FB muffs are held in by rivets like they are on the Street Bob muffs, removing them is easy. Just drill out the rivets. Finding an aftermarket baffle that will fit those muffs will be the problem.

Cycle Shack makes replacement baffles for the Screamin' Eagle SP muffs that fit other Dyna models, and those baffles should fit the Street Bob muffs. I'm actually thinking about trying that. But as of now, they don't make any baffles to fit the Screamin' Eagle muffs for the Fat Bob. Once they do, and again, if the baffles in the std muffs are held in by rivets, you could try putting those in.

Supertrapp. It's my understanding that ST still has the stampings and is continuing to make them, just not for HD any more.

Right! I just could not think of the name.

I wonder if Supertrapp is the one making the new street legal SP muffs? I heard a rumor when they first came out that Vance & Hines was making the new ones for Harley, but I never could confirm that.

I stand to be corrected. It must be the SPs they quit carrying.

Or, put a full new exhaust on, and get it tunned, you will spend a little more, But your just gonna put ANOTHER set of slip-ons, on...Then later down the road your gonna do a full exhaust, do it now, and get it over with instead of having money wrapped up in 2 sets of slipons, when all your tryin to do is get the sound of a tunned full exhaust...

or, buy 4 more sets of slipons...its your call.

I have the rush pipes with 2.25 baffles and they sound absolutely amazing! The good thing about Rush is the price and you can interchange the baffles easily. I went with slip-ons for the price and I needed the Harley sound right away because the stock pipes really sucked. I also agree with DynaRyda about getting the full system if your committed to a set you like. If you do go with Rush you wont be disappointed.
