I just leave it on one of my mirrors, never had one taken. I have often wondered about how smart that is.
Actually, it can do damage to the helmet liner. It's just styrofoam, and resting on the edge of the mirror can compress it in that spot. And think about this, if you don't rest it in exactly the same spot, you've just compressed it another spot, and another spot every other time you rest it in different spots.
My $5,000. Yamaha had a helmet lock on the left seat brace.
My $18,000. fatbob doesn't have any.
My $1,500. scott mower has a fuel gauge on the dash.
My $5,000. John Deere doesn't have one.
So much for the "you get what you pay for" quote.

Harleys are a good exception to that rule.

It's smart until you get back to your bike and there's no helmet.

Maybe I will switch to hanging it on the pad on my sissy bar..........that ought to be better.
I put my lock on the left side of the handle bar. I lock the clasp of the in the ring and set my helmet on the mirror.
I figure if they want the helmet bad enough, they'll take the whole bike.
ive just baught a helmet lock from my local h-d dealer, its a pritty basic bolt on the frame thingy the question is where do i put it?
In your pocket. Maybe I am just lucky, but the helmet gets strapped to the sissy bar, rain gear and tools in the bags and haven't lost anything yet. Of course I only hang around bikers who I have found tend to be more honest than the rest of the world
