I have a 2005 FXDCI and it is time for tires. I would like a little better handleing....
Has anyone put radials on their 2005 model?
I do have HD mag wheels, no spokes.
I would like to hear more about this also. I've also got a 2005 FXDCi, and I'll be purchasing tires in the spring. I'm looking at Metzler ME 880's. They seem to run about $250 for the pair for the stock size on our bikes.
I have the ME 880s on my 2005 FXDCI now , and have had them on for about a year.
They are way better than the stock Dunlops as far as rain grooves/pavement expansion joints as well as being better in the rais. They do wear faster than the stock Dunlops.
I will probably try Avons next, but want to find out if anyone is using radials on their older ( 2005 ) models. I don't know why harley did not ude them; whether it was a cost issue or they did not handle well with the older frame.
I have also put on a sputhe stabilizer kit, progressive 440s rear shocks and a SE front fork brace. Still stock swingarm and bushings.
What do you think of that stabilizer kit? I've got FXDX-T shocks on mine, a Superbrace, and will be doing the Works front spring kit pretty soon. I'm all about handling too
