I will be riding the Bob to work and she will sit out during the day. What can I use on the stock(vinyl) seat to protect it from the sun. I don't need my *** sliding off it and I don't want the seat to crack, etc yet. Actually, the seat is comfortable so far only put 260miles on one day and was fine. Will let you know after 500! LOL Mako[sm=crossbonesgif.gif]
Why don't you get a full cover and protect the whole bike from sun and rain. If you get a plain one ($50?), it will serve to disguise that it is a Harley to would-be thiefs (not that that will stop them long, bastards).
I got a defender cover for the apartment and a security system (like that will help - LOL). Was just looking for something simple to protect during the day. Maybe a dust cover isn't a bad idea. I just hate carring all that **** around. Mako
i got a nice cover from Exigent in PA, packs up very small and covers right to ground.
If you mean you just want UV protection for seat, I use Formula 303 on seat, canoes, kayaks, etc. Kind of like Armour all but no petroleum and supposedly more uv resistant.
Don't worry about it. Mine sat out for years and the seat surface never deteriorated. But I used a Mustang seat. Although, if you park in brutal sunlight that seat can get a little hot.
I've seen a small cover that stretches from handlebars to rear fender that would be good sun protection.
