The colder the better for the bike! As for me,its got to be atleat 60 deg or i dont ride,,so that being said there are only a hand full of days i dont ride (like 3)
No i ride when its cold too, sometimes it will be 40 deg or less. But here where i live theres really no need to ride if its 32,whats the point! Doesnt happen often. I did ride to work at 4am last week (over 1hr,all freeway doing 80+)it was cold but nice with my new leather and ipod!
A couple of saturdays ago I left the house the temp was 6 degrees. I put on my 30 year old raven police issue cold suit and a gortex coat over the suit. The only thing got cold was the tips of my fingers. I had on leather insulated ridding gloves along with wool liners. The 2003 electric glide ran great. I left the superglide in the barn due to not enough wind breaker equipment.
My lady and I spent 4 hours riding last weekend it was in the 30's Sure enjoyed that hot shower when we got home....
As long as it is dry, I enjoy the ride with the right gear.
I wouldn't think it wouldn't hurt as long as you warm it up good. I went to get my 1000 mile service and Dyno done Saturday and it was 16 degrees. But they had a special depending on the temperature (35-40 10%, 29-34 15%, below 29 20%) so I got 20% off so it was worth it. Only my fingers got a little cold.
I ride mine here in Sweden so long as there's no ice..maybe 0 or just plus 2..add wind chill factor when your doing 70-80mph...leave you to work the science out but its damn cold..stop to warm up every petrol station..but the bike rides good..no probs.
Celsius or what? With wind chill that would be -20 farenheight
My 1st riding season i rode until it was too icy out to ride. Not anymore! Anything under 50 and I don't ride if I can help it. For me freezing takes the joy out of the ride. That said i would think being an air cooled motor it would have no problem with cold as long as your oil is warm and flowing good.
GOD I wish the winter were over ... I'm going through bad motorcycle riding withdrawal! ALMOST makes me want to brave the cold. Then again it's been in the single digits here the past few weeks and it hurt running from the house to my car!!! Plus the side roads are still covered with snow/ice and we're suppose to have another big snow storm Wednesdya into Thursday. The bike unfortunately will have to wait.

42 here today and my father and I went for a ride. Was totally manageable. My fingertips did get a bit frosty even though I was wearing gloves. My face and so forth was fine as I wear a nece/face warmer. My dad is even more comfortable on his bagger with the front fairing.
That said, I don't think I'd enjoy riding much colder than a day like today.
the only problem that i have had is with the rear tire not getting good traction. Other then that I have not had any problems and have riden in 15 deg. weather.
