Default Before & After Dyno Tuning

Just got my bike back after a tuning session. What a difference!! I thought my bike was running very rich, shooting blue flames & popping on deceleration. Poor gas mileage, maybe 35mpg, at best. Had SE spark plugs and these were fouled badly, leading to the idea of running way to rich. My Indy told me he had problems with these plugs and changed mine to Champions. I also changed fluids from SYN 3 to Amzoil; oil, primary, & transmission. I've attached the before & after dyno runs.

According to the 'before' dyno run, you were tuned too lean, not too rich. There's no denying the good results from the 'after' pull though!

I "thought" I was running way too rich because of my spark plugs color being black & sooty, my mufflers being coated with soot, and I was also shooting blue flames out on decel which told me I had a lot of fuel in my pipes. I also had lousy gas mileage.

The before dyno run showed I was way to lean. That surprised me as my pipes should have blued and my plugs should have been white to light tan.

Using 6th gear below 65 mph was causing me to lug the motor as well. I only use 6th now when I'm over 70mph.

It does pay to have a proper tune done with a PCIII. I could have burned a hole in my pistons. And, the tune was done on independently on both cylinders.

impressive improvement. Many self tuner's out there with their canned map think their bike run's ok. till it's on the dyno, you dont really know.

Nice ... looks like a +6.89/+5.27 improvement just for dialing it in!

I'm getting my PC5 and Shortshots installed soon and a guy at the dealership said he wouldn't even dyno it if he was me, just map it and go.. but i think i'll be on the safe side and have the dyno tunning done!

It's well worth the $$. I debated long and hard before dropping my $. I tried several maps from the forum and even tried several maps from the PCIII site. Cost me $250 for an advanced dyno tune and I think it is worth the money. My dealer has a dyno and charges $150, but they would not take the time to really get a good dial in. I'd do it again and now wished I had not tried to save the $.

From engine sound to "seat of the pants" feel, BIG IMPROVEMENT. I'll do a gas mileage test next, I'm hoping around 42 mpg at least.
