Default tach

Anyone succesfully install a Harley 2 5/8" mini tach on a 07 Streetbob. I want to install the spun aluminum one on my bike but it doesn't list being available for the 07 SB. I thought i had saw a post in the forum before of someone doing it.

I put a 2 5/8 tach on my SG. I found this helpful when it came to the wiring.

Not a bad install at all. Tach feed goes to the number three hole in the ecm harness on my 06 model.Mounted the 2 5/8 on my SB. Consider it much better than the smaller mini-tach.

I've got a trippletree mount available if you need it. Part numbers 67218-04 and 67676-04.Couldn't use it because it interfered with my Windvest and had to go with a more rearward trippletree mount.

Good Luck

Tom

I just got my new 5" Screamin Eagle tach on my bike tonite. Got rid of the mini tach.
Keep in mind, not every tach is calibrated the same. I had to figure out how to get the monster tach to read right because it was different than the mini tach.

I went to the dealer today and we looked up the instructions provided for the mini tach, and it looks similar to the instructions on the link that bbreck and jrk5892 provided. So why isn't the tach listed for my, or all bikes for that matter? Its just splicing in the power and signal wires. Thanks for everyones help. I'm ordering my parts and i should have my winter project finished in a few weeks. I'm adding the spun alum. mini tach, and the fxdse2 dash which will alow me to move my ignition off the frame.
