Well I forgot to mention its an 08 with stock A/C. Now the SE A/C will be a little futher down the road but it will be done with either the HD download or with tuner. I would perfer to do the work myself so a tuner like (Fuelpak or Power Commander) would be my choice over the H-D download even though all I plan is the stage 1.

I talked to Jamie at Fuel Moto-his recommendation for the 96 inch is the 2" with his A/C (using the SE backplate) and the PC-V. He doesn't think the auto tuner is necessary as they have a great map for that set up. I'm waiting for my buddy to pick up his WideGlide so I can hear his pipes before making the final decision (he is putting on 1.75") His is an 88 inch motor, though, so I don't if I'm comparing apples to oranges or not.

Anybody know if there is a significant difference between the 88 and 96 inch when it comes to pipes-performance or sound??

doxbike, performance diif 88/96 are significant: rememember the 96 has o2 sensors the 88 duz not. 96's run very lean from the factory and free flow a/c and low restrict exhaust lean them out further. on the 96's the o2 sense a leaner condition and tel the computer to richen up, but by design ECM cant adjust accordingly and now you are "mistuned" that is why dealer says rush 1.75 if left stock will gain performance. 2.0 baffle ok, but then tuner, stage 1 and dyno time. 1400+ dollars/mufflers

Default IED's

Nightrider.com's IED's claim to allow the enrichment of the AFR to the point that the tuners are not necessary, nor the factory download. I kept the VIED's I had on the Sportster. Are these enough if I put on the Rush 2" and Stage I A/C?

I'm running Rush bologna cut slip on's with 2" baffles on my stock Fat Bob. In fact, I had them installed at the dealership the day I purchased the bike. I never even heard it run with the stock mufflers on it. I'm very pleased with how they sound. I have a set of Xied's that I'm going to install after it gets it's 1000 mile service. I had purchased them and used them on the sporty, but took them off of the sporty when I traded it for the Fat Bob.

Anyway, the slip on's make it sound much better in my opinion.

I'm running the 2.25 baffles in my Rush pipes. I was kicking around the idea of 2" for a while but I just had to go one step farther. I bought the whole package from Fuel Moto (Pipes, AC, Power Commander) and haven't had any problems with popping or discoloring. The bike runs great so their map must be working well. Sounds freakin awesome too!

So if I'm reading everybodys posts correct it will be OK to run the 2" baffles on a stock bike.

I ran 1.75 baffles on a stock Fat Bob and had a lot of popping on decel. I've now fitted a SE filter and a fuelpak. I still get some popping especially when the bike's hot. It definately makes a noticeable difference in torque especially around 60-70 mph. The pipes give a deep rumble which is not too loud.
