Default SE Dyna

Tried out an '07 SE Dyna today and have to say that it was sweet. The suspension was rock solid, as was the breaking, but what really made me smile was the power, even at 50 mph when I goosed the throttle it still pulled me back in the seat. When I got on the freeway I was up to 90 mph without blinking an eye and it didn't even feel like I was going 70 mph. Heck I didn't even know I was going 90 until I looked down at the speedo.

Is that what it is like when you do Stage II upgrade? I was kind of on the fence with that but after riding 110, if that is what I can expect, I'm sold.

I test rode a stock 96" Fat Bob and a CVO SE Fat Bob before purchasing my bike. I was reasonably impressed with the 96" motor, but I was under no delusions of expecting to be on a rocket... still it was pretty good.
For all the hoopla about the big 110" motor on the CVO, it really underwhelmed me for the huge amount of additional $$$$$$$.
Of course, a little bit of additional engine room work on the CVO would unleash the tethered beast within.

I have ridden a SE 110 it was a Road Glide so it felt about as fast as a stock 96 Dyna with stage 1, and I have to agree with Centerline with a little work you will able to wake up that motor. My 103 does the trick for me you can kick it up at 70 to pass and cruise at 90 all day no problem. ( not today though in Dallas with 40 mph crosswinds but it was in the high 70's).

My dad has an '07 SE Dyna. It's pretty sweet, the guy he bought it off of had a Harley SRT installed and Reinhart 2-1 pipes. It really woke that 110 up, I love riding that bike and it really turns some heads.

I Ride a 88tc and I was able to ride a 96 yesterday. Their was conciderably more power, but for some reason I like the feel of my 88 throttle better. Don't know if its the way my throttle is adjusted or just that the 88 is smoother.

Not saying I want to go with a 110 (don't) and not looking for a rocket either, but for me 70 -75 seems an easy ride, just seems like I have to push it a little when I go above that and where I am at now even when you are going 80 you are not the fastest thing on the road (so sometimes you need to move a bit faster so you don't get run over); heck even the cops drive 80 around here. It just seemed like when i was riding the SE at 90 it was like riding mine at 70 (not saying I want to do that either). Don't know really how to explain it... guess I'm thinking it would be easier and maybe safer to ride a bike at 70 when it is closer to the bottom of the power band rather then near the top (and why I would consider the 103" Stage II upgrade)

And then again, maybe I am just missing the boat entirely... Hell I love my SB it is a hell of a bike, just seems like it is always almost there...

I weighed the pros/cons of a CVO Dyna or my "lowly" Street Bob before I bought the Bob. Paint, chrome, "factory installation" plus a premium for the name added something to the tune of $20,000 CDN to the price of a Dyna Super Glide. So, $15'ish for the bike + $20'ish for the CVO stuff, the $35'ish price tag was nearly spot on with what HD wants. My "build your own CVO Dyna parts list spreadsheet" pretty much verified this as well; the file is long gone though.

But, at the end of the day, I settled for the Street Bob which I can build up to be my own. I was not too interested in the chrome/flash of the CVO, so apart from the paint (which I can have done) and the engine work (which I can do), the CVO bike really had little to entice me.

But, would I get that blue CVO Dyna if I had $40k burning a hole in my pocket? Yup! Who knows, I will probably pick up a used one in a few years...wifey loves that blue paint so I might have my bargaining chip!

Of course, a little bit of additional engine room work on the CVO would unleash the tethered beast within.
Damn right! Work the heads (swap to SE 110+), bump the compression to 10.5:1, tune, and give 'er!
