If it's EFI, just do the reset procedure.

I have the same thing from time to time. always works its self out though. you might try getting it real warmed up, then when you come to a stop sign, holding the front brake an litting off throttle a bit to lug down the engine just a bit. it usually works for me. seems lik something is sticking open.

I found my trouble. I have a pc111 and where the pc111 connects to the ecm was full of water. i took a hairdryer and dried it out and I am back to normal. I bought some di electric grease, but i have never used any. Do I just smear this stuff all over the connecters ? May be a dumb question but I want to do it right. I need to wash my bike but I do not want to get it wet until I am sure I will not get the pc111 and ecm wet again. Thanks for any help.

What size torx bit do you use to adjust the idle screw? I tried a 15 but was too small and a 20 is too large.

buzzard, it's a tamperproof torx screw. You need a special bit.

Just an FYI, but on EFI that throttle screw should not be used to adjust idle. If it came loose then you'll want to check the service manual to set it back to the factory position. EFI uses the Idle Air Control Valve to set idle. Messing with the idle screw will only cause you idle headaches later on as the computer tries to compensate to get the idle where it want.
