Ihave a 2006 dyna superglide. I just brought it out of hibernation today. My bike is idleing really high. Never did slow down to the loping potato potato potato sound. I took a twenty minute ride and it still sounded like i had throttle half turned. I double checked the screw that can be used for cruise control to make sure it was not tightened by accident and it was not. Any ideas or suggestions.
my o6 superglide did the same thing, the idle adjusting screw in the throttlebody had came loose and wouldnt let the throttle close. reset using loctite no problem.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago.
Adjusted screw and problem solved.
Put up December 5. Battery connected the whole time but no tender was used. Just put in fuel stabilizer and put a cover on it. I live in Tennessee and winter can be short here. 71 degrees today.

I guess no question is a dumb question. How do I do this ?

pull the air cleaner first and make sure thats the problem. if it is there is a hole in the lower right corner of the throttlebody, i dont remember if the adjusting screw takes a torx or a small flatblade screwdriver.
Sounds like a look at the adjusting screw is in order. If that is okay, maybe disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnect and see if the idle comes down.
My '08 doesn't sound quite like an old shovelhead, but there's no mistaken it's idle for anything but a Harley
