My 08 FXDWG has a weird problem. When the bike was new (last year) it would hold a charge for weeks without issue. For the last couple of months, it will go dead if I don't keep it on a charger. I pulled the maxifuse and measured the current draw of the bike just sitting there. The value starts high 250mA but settles in to a constant 40mA. At 40mA, the battery will go dead in:
14A/hr / 0.04A = 350 hrs or two weeks which is close to what I'm dealing with.
Its still under warranty. I would check with your stealer.
I've found my battery drains in cold weather (obviously) and when the kick stand is on cold concrete so I put a block under it, and seems to curve the problem.
My bike sat all winter in an unheated garage with lows reaching -30F last month. I went out last weekend, and to my surprise, it fired right up. So.... no, I guess I don't notice any battery drain.
My bike is an 05' and I have had the replacement battery in there longer than I had the original. If it sat for a few weeks - it would'd start. Put in a new battery and it still has pleanty of *** after sitting all winter. I don't have a tender on it either... Granted, it's parked in the basement so it's nice and toasty down there.
A buddy of mine has to keep a block of wood/rubber under his kickstand in his garage because his battery goes dead. But he doesn't ride the thing enough in the summer to even get the motor up to operating temp either...
I just had Harley check out the bike (warranty). The TSSM, part number 68925-07 ($260) was bad causing excessive current draw. They fixed the part and reprogrammed one of my fobs. I didn't have the other fob with me.
