Default Riding with glasses

On this road to getting older there are many pot holes. And one such pot hole is your eyes or my eyes I should say. I am now the not so proud owner of glasses and bi-focal glasses to make it even better. My question is to others with glasses. When you ride do you just were your glasses or goggles over them. I have a windshield so that should help. I'm a little worried about the bi-focal part getting in my line of sight. And the glasses fogging up. But I guess I'll get use to them. Is kind of cool to be able to see again.

I have a friend that uses the bobster goggles over his glasses. That might work for you as well.

I wear contact lenses and a pair of sunglasses that seal around your eye, the only time I wear my regular glasses is with my full face helmet when its cold. I tried wearing my glasses and the wind just tried my eyes out.

My bifocals are progressives, and I don't wear them to drive. Focal area for distance viewing is too limited.... everything in peripheral is blurry.

I wear distance glasses with nothing over them. Now then I am planning to purchase a set of 7-eye Bora RX sunglasses.... very nice glasses, and feature wrap-around the eyes with a foam seal.

I also use a toggle with my glasses as well.

I think Panoptics and Wiley X do prescription goggles. I just take my glasses off and ride with out.

I wear Bobster goggles. For 43 bucks I got the goggles with dark tinted, amber, and clear lenses. It also comes with a prescription frame(you provide the prescription lens) that locks into the inside of the goggles. I wear them all the time when I ride, keeps the wind and rain out of your eyes and they stay in place. Here is a link to them.

I wear a full face helmet over my progressive bifocals and I can see just fine. Also most full size motocross or ski type goggles will easily fit over a pair of glasses.Another option is to find a set of frames that seal around your nose and wear them in place of goggles, and last but not least, expensive that is, you can have custom prescription lenses made for some goggles.

Archer - Just got my Bora glasses Friday and wore them yesterday with my contacts. Works great, well worth the money...

Yeah, I’ve got some Wiley X prescription glasses….. with the REAL Transitions lenses. Those ‘transition’ lenses that Wiley X sells are CRAP! A total waste of money. They were kind enough to at least send me some plain smoke lenses to replace those worthless transition lenses they sell……. I just ate the $50 or whatever extra it cost me. I bought a second pair of frames when I got my prescription filled. My insurance paid for most of the cost anyway.

I have the Top Jimmy model with the foam eye cups that really keep the air out and are replaceable if they wear out. I can’t imagine riding without them now. I actually have a prescription lens restriction on my license – so, I had to get these or face being busted.

I didn’t know this myself, but Wiley X doesn’t even make the prescription lenses. I mean, I think they can make them if you give them your prescription, but if you go to a local dealer who can get the frames they can get you lenses made from an equivalent to the polycarbonate lenses that Wiley X sells and possibly for less and you can get the real deal Transition lenses if you want. As long as your prescription isn’t too severe.
