Smoke Out!

Ok, well I just got the new Vance & Hines Shortshots on my 09 Street Bob and wow, they look Awesome on there!

Well I started it up and they sound amazing but after about 30 seconds there was a burning smell and a little smoke coming out. Is this normal and how long before it stops?

Was it coming off the pipes or from inside? Honestly I would think its just some sort of coating they ship with thats burning off. Kind of like motors and what not on new bikes.

Clean the pipes off with rubbing alcohol and try again.

maybe the anti-seize on the o2 sensors, it will stop soon.

I would say it's because there new. Give it some time and it will stop.

As mentioned above always clean new pipes with alcohol or windex any prints left on the pipes could burn into the pipes during the burn off. They will smoke for a little bit then it will stop.
