OK, just got back from the dealer. Vance & Hines is NOT delivering any black 2-1 Pro Pipes or black Big Radius 2-1 until April, per the factory. Drag kept giving us different dates, and even updated to say those pipes were shipping TODAY, despite confirmation from the manufacturer that they haven't been released. What a crock! I do think there are some chrome pipes available, for those who want to go that route. D&D also has problems delivering.
I ended up going with a Rinehart black 2-1 pipe that's in stock and will be here in three days, after order on Monday.
For those of you who want your pipes, better check real hard to be sure if your order is really coming. I've been waiting on the pipes for three weeks, and Drag has done nothing but lie about the delivery date for something it doesn't have in stock.
Thanks for the information. My new Fat Bob has been at the dealership 4 weeks waiting on the black pro pipe. I will be contacting them tomorrow about the black Rinehart.
I checked the Rineharts out on Bub.com. They don't show the black one, but I like the look of the pipe in chrome and I think it'll be damn fine. Nice sound and they seem to be proud of their performance. I think I'll be fine with this pipe, so Dave, I hope it works for you, too.
Think you'll be better off with the Rinehart 2 into 1 than the pro pipe anyway! Makes good power & has a much deeper sound than the pro pipe IMO, I'm just not into the tiny sound! Some are though
Thanks. Now that I've checked up on it a bit more, I'm happy with the decision. It cost me another $60, but what the hell. Looks like I'm getting what I want and I damn sure don't want to wait until April for V&H to get busy.
Personally, I think like a lot of others.... Thunderheader. If you don't like the bluing, I think you can order heat shields, also you can get a black one, or, wrap it. I want to get one, but I'm waiting until I can afford the 103 stage II, and have the whole thing Dynoed and tuned at the same time.

That's sort of what I'm doing. I bought the Fat Bob and the 103 Stave IV kit at the same time, and was expecting the V&H Pro Pipe. A lot of folks recommend the Thunderheader, but there was an issue getting it in black and it would've put me a few more weeks out. I decided to get the Rineharts instead of waiting longer, though.
