Im in the market for a used Street Bob and ive come across a few 2006 models at a great price , but should I stay away from them as i've read about some problems with that year?..Any advice is appreciated

I'd just budjet the ipb and the stator replacement into the price and go from there if they havn't been upgraded. Both are only nuisense problems that can be fixed, and if you like one of them go for it. Should not be a reason to totally avoid them.

ha ha ha ha! i always recomend to GO for the 06 as the 88 has WAY more engine mods you can get at much cheaper prices than the 96... I also have an 06 love it... dont have much work done to it just pipes baffels, Stage 1, KN, SERT... VERY well tuned... and i walk my buddies with the 96... not so much on the motor work but more knwoing where i am (tach) and when and how to shift... either way it is a good bike... if you get the 06 try to see what size injectors it has! the newer 06 models had issues with the idol temps on the smaller injectors but MoCO swapped them out if it has then
Definitely cover your bases...The 06 has the issues listed above, and don't forget about the crappy cam chain tensioners. The cranks/flywheels are POSs too. But that's not unique to this bike. All depends on what you want to do with it.
snipe i am jsut saying that the 88CI has been around longer so more aftermarket companies offer components for that motor... i have not cracked my cases yet... got to many bikes i am building to have time to do that... next winter on that one... with boost
